The Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine is a nationally recognised nutrition course that will enable you to register as a qualified nutritionist with both the Australian Traditional Medicine Society and the Australian Natural Therapists Association. Within the Advanced Diploma, you'll cover a range of nutrition and nutrition-related subjects which cover: anatomy and physiology, pathology, biochemistry, diagnostics, clinical practice managements, counselling and nutrition.

The advanced diploma of nutritional medicine will provide you with the knowledge and skills to either set up your own private practice as a nutritionist or work as a nutritionist in a health clinic. Alternatively, due to the increasing demand and awareness of nutrition and nutrition experts in Australia, you will also be explosed to a wide range of employment opportunities in health care clinics, the education sector, welfare, health and beauty retreats and various other fields.

Please be aware, not all advanced dioloma of nutritional medicine courses will enable you to register with a relevant accreditation body such as the Australian Traditional Medicine Society and the Australian Natural Therapists Association. Registration with an accreditation body is essential as it is a general requirement when you take out indemnity insurance which is a legal requirement for you to practice as a nutritionist. Therefore, you must ask each course provider (or training organisation) which nutrition-related organisation their course is accredited with.

You can study your Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine online or by correspondence however, you must make sure that if you study this way, the course you enrol in provides you with several hundred hours of clinical practical experience (which is a requirement by all accreditation agencies). You must also make sure that the advanced diploma of nutritional medicine course you do is recognised by at least one of the following governing nutrition bodies: Nutrition Society of Australia, Australian Traditional Medicine Society, Australian Natural Therapists Association, Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).
